Parvaz Ensemble is a cross-cultural ensemble founded in 2001 by Arash Moradi and Fariborz Kiani.
The music is predominantly inspired by the tanbour maqam music from the Kurdish region of Iran as well as the classical Persian music repertoire known as "Radeef".
Parvaz Ensemble collaborates with some of the most talented Europe-based Iranian musicians as well as a number of celebrated visiting musicians from Iran.
The Ensemble was formed initially to promote the regional and classical music of Iran in the UK. It soon, however, became a meeting point for musicians of other music traditions of the world.
Today, as well as the traditional Iranian instruments the ensemble also enjoys the colourful variations and interpretations introduced by a number of high-profile non-Iranian musicians on a wide range of musical instruments.
The ensemble size and programme is fluid and can vary according to the event. What is never compromised is the authenticity and the quality of the music.
